A Horrific Network of Black Widows Who Poisoned for Insurance Money
The story of Catherine and Margaret Flannagan
Running a lodging house can be extremely hard, especially when you don't make enough money for the finner things in life. Unfortunately, this was the situation sisters Catherine Flannagan and Margaret Higgins found themselves in.
However, the sisters had a plan midway through their lives to make more money; they would collect big insurance payouts from the victims they murdered.
They were not that selective about who they killed for the insurance money, one of the victims being Margaret's younger husband. Thomas Higgins, he however, had the ultimate revenge as his death led to their capture and the uncovering of many more victims.
He also may have unwittingly helped uncover a network of black widows who murdered for profit.
