Mitesh killed his wife Jessica and would have got away with it had his iPhone not caught him out.

Mitesh Patel was a pharmacist and well-educated businessman who lived in Middlesbrough with his wife, Jessica.

The couple met as children and played together. They were later reunited when they studied at De Montfort University in Leicester.

Mitesh was Jessica's first boyfriend, and they met in secret to not alarm her family. The relationship grew as they studied pharmacy together in Manchester, leading them to marry in June 2009.

Unbeknownst to Jessica, their nine-year marriage would prove to be completely fake. Not only did her family suspect he was gay, but his controlling behaviour was a concern for them.

They were right to be suspicious as Mitesh was gay. Not only that, but he was planning to elope to Australia with his gay lover.
