Roman Szalajko opened his door one cold day in February 1984 and was stabbed fatally. 

The sixty-two-year-old's murder would remain unsolved for forty years. The identity of the killer was discovered through a cold case review in 2013 when a fingerprint linked the murder to Paul Bryan.

Bryan had been living in Portugal, having assumed the identity of a dead Welshman.
