The Abducted Children on the Titanic
When Michel Navrati abducted his sons, he couldn’t have chosen a worse ship to escape on.
Michel and Edmond Navrati were born in Nice to parents Michel Navrati and Marcella Caretto. When their marriage became troubled in early 1912, the parents separated, and their mother gained the majority of their custody.
She was not a cruel woman over Easter, so she let the boys stay with their father. Michel had other plans other than returning the boys to their mother. Instead, he chose to emigrate to America with them, using false names.
The three gained passage on one of the most famous ships known, Titanic. As imagined, the three never made it to America, and it was several months later that Marcella had any trace of her two young boys.
