The Allegations Against Russell Brand Set a Dangerous Precedence

The Government have overstepped their position.

Russell Brand is a British comedian and actor accused of sexual assault and rape by four women via a television program last week. 

Channel 4’s Dispatches aired last week, saying it had been investigating the celebrity for several years and now has the proof to go public with the allegations. 

There are reports that two women have gone to the police about attacks, but nothing has been substantiated. 

It is important to point out that no charges have been formally made by the police against Brand at the date of writing this article. 

This article is not about these allegations but the worrying actions that have emerged since then. Actions that could have implications for all of us. 

Needless to say, if Brand is found guilty of the charges brought against him, then he deserves any punishment given to him. However, at present, the U.K. has a legal standpoint that everyone is innocent until proven guilty or does it?
